About the Role

As a Neurodiagnostic Tech, you'll perform specialized tests like EEGs, providing crucial data for diagnosing neurological conditions. You'll prepare patients, monitor neurological activity, manage equipment, and process data for physician review. Strong technical skills, neuroanatomy knowledge, problem-solving abilities, compassionate care, attention to detail, and effective communication are essential for accurate diagnoses.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate standard and complex EEG recordings at the bedside and in the laboratory on a routine, emergency, and on-call basis for adolescent, adult, and elderly patients.
  • Attend all required in-services, adhere to departmental and hospital policies and procedures, and participate in hospital and departmental goals and objectives.
  • Maintain and clean equipment and laboratory areas on a daily basis.
  • Assist with delivering reports, transporting patients to and from the laboratory, and other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Enhance professional growth and development through educational programs, current literature, workshops, and conferences.
  • Assist physicians in diagnosing diseases and disorders of the brain and central nervous system through neurodiagnostic testing.

Requirements

  • High School GED or High School Graduate.
  • Successful completion of an educational program for Neurodiagnostics (EEG) by an accredited program or on-the-job training.
  • Five (5) years of experience with two licensures and certifications or six (6) or more years of experience with one licensure and certification.
  • Basic Life Support - CPR certification within 14 days of hire.
  • Registered EEG Technologist certification upon hire.

Pay

$29.44 - $43.79 per hour.
