Responsibilities

The Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist I provides neurodiagnostics throughout the organization, including:

  • Intra-Operative Monitoring (IOM)
  • Electroencephalography (EEG)
  • Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS)

Interacts daily with patients, staff, and physicians to assist in diagnosing and treating conditions such as headaches, seizure disorders, dizziness, strokes, and neuropathies, as well as testing nerve function during spine and brain surgeries.

Requirements

Education

  • Required (one of the following):
    • Associate's Degree in an allied health-related field (e.g., biology, chemistry, nursing) without registry
    • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience
    • High School Diploma and an approved registry from ABRET, AAET, ABEM, or BRPT
    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (must be obtained within one year of hire)
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in a related field

Experience

  • Preferred: Previous healthcare experience

Skills

  • Proficient in medical terminology
  • Knowledgeable of human anatomy and physiology
  • Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Required: At least one registry from the following:
    • American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET)
    • American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET)
    • American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM)
    • Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
