Neurodiagnostic Tech II

St. Louis Children’s Hospital is seeking an experienced Neurodiagnostic Tech II to join our team and support patients at our Level 4 Epilepsy Center. This role involves developing workflows, policies, and procedures related to new or changing neurodiagnostic technology or services. You will perform both academic and routine inpatient and outpatient neurodiagnostic EEG testing procedures, including advanced modalities at both BJH and SLCH.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform a variety of EEG procedures, including routine inpatient and outpatient EEGs, ambulatory studies, long-term monitoring (LTM), SEEG, electrocorticography, and EEG telemetry.
• Develop workflows, policies, and procedures related to new or changes in technology or services.
• Provide direct and indirect procedural supervision for Tech I and student technologists.
• Evaluate and audit EEG quality, leading performance improvement initiatives using LEAN principles to meet academic-level standards.
• Perform electrode maintenance and impedance checks to ensure EEG quality; troubleshoot EEG recording technology as needed.
• Perform long-term video EEG setup and monitoring, electrocorticography, cortical stimulation mapping, routine and/or intra-operative somatosensory evoked potentials, and intra-operative EEG monitoring with or without robotics (academic locations only).
• Perform routine, extended, and ambulatory EEG recordings independently at the highest levels of patient acuity.
• Analyze live and delayed long-term video EEG data independently and at the highest levels of patient acuity.
• Perform annotation and clipping of long-term video EEG data (academic locations only).
• Validate physician orders, enter relevant patient history into the EEG recording system, and document long-term video EEG setup and disconnect notes in the electronic medical record.
• Enter procedure changes into the electronic billing system and archive EEG testing data.
• Accurately document and maintain patient records within the electronic medical record.
• Monitor study quality and ensure adherence to department standards and protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support exceptional patient care.
• Assist with training and mentoring student technologists as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Less than 2 years of experience.
• R. EEG T. certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or Trade School education.
• 2-5 years of experience.
• Hospital-based neurodiagnostic experience.
• Pediatric patient care experience.
• Experience performing advanced EEG testing modalities.

Schedule

• Full-Time, Night Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Every third weekend.
• Rotating holiday schedule.
• Limited on-call requirements.
