About the role

The Neurodiagnostic Technologist I is a mid-level position in the Neurodiagnostic department. This role performs routine and complex EEG procedures according to facility policy and procedures, maintains patient safety during clinically significant events, and supports team communication and collaboration. The Neurodiagnostic Technologist I works under the clinical and technical supervision of the Lead Neurodiagnostic Technologist and department Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Performs procedures appropriate to the competence and credentials of a Neurodiagnostic Technologist (EEG T., R. EEG T.).
  • Maintains continuing education and competencies; acquires new competencies relative to industry standards in Neurodiagnostics.
  • Participates in orienting and mentoring new team members and working with EEG students.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as requested.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Required
  • Enrollment in or graduation from an ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (ABRET) Neurodiagnostic (END) Program, or
  • An Associates degree or higher from an accredited college or university in health care/science, or
  • Training in EEG at an accredited Health Care Facility and eligible for the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (ABRET) EEG board exam. Required

Experience

  • One year EEG experience, which may include student clinical rotation. Required
  • Pediatric EEG experience. Preferred

Skills

  • Well-developed PC and Microsoft Windows knowledge. Required
  • Effective communication skills, hard worker, and a team player. Required

Additional Requirements

  • Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association. Required

Schedule

Monday–Friday, Saturday, Sunday (days vary), 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
