Neurodiagnostic Tech I

Position Summary

The Neurodiagnostic Technologist I, is a mid-level position in the Neurodiagnostic department. The Neurodiagnostic Technologist I performs routine and complex EEGs procedures according to facility policy and procedures; maintains patient safety during clinically significant events, and other related duties. Communication skills and team work are essential for this position. The Neurodiagnostic Technologist I works under the clinical and technical supervision of the Lead Neurodiagnostic Technologist and department Manager.

Position Duties

• Performs procedures appropriate to the competence and credentials of Neurodiagnostic Technologist ( EEG T., R. EEG T.)
• Maintains continuing education and competencies; Acquires new competencies relative to industry standards in Neurodiagnostics.
• Participates in orienting and mentoring new team members and working with EEG students.
• Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.

Position Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Enrollment in or graduation from an ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (ABRET) Neurodiagnostic (END) Program, or, An Associates degree or higher from an accredited college or university in health care/science, or, Training in EEG at an acredited Health Care Facility and eligible for the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (ABRET) EEG board exam.
• Experience: One year EEG experience, which may include student clinical rotation. Pediatric EEG experience preferred.
• Special Skills: Well-developed pc and Microsoft Windows knowledge. Effective communication skills, hard worker, and a team player.
• Additional Requirements: Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association.

• Occupational Exposure/Risk Potential: Inside office environment, Extreme temperatures, Confined areas, Extreme noise levels, Airborne communicable diseases, Bloodborne pathogens or bodily fluid, Fumes or airborne particles, Hazardous materials exposure, Radiation exposure, Toxic or caustic chemicals.
