Full-time night shift position (36 hours/week, 0.9 FTE) at the Burnet Campus in the Neurology department.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic evaluations, including independently and accurately hooking patients up to EEG equipment and starting the study while ensuring network access.
  • Conduct neurodiagnostic testing procedures, maintain currency in the field through continued education, and adhere to emergency-response actions and infection control standards.
  • Operate independently, utilize resources efficiently, and train new staff.
  • Maintain lab and equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure work areas are safe, organized, and efficient.
  • Measure, mark, and apply/remove electrodes according to the international 10-20 system, ensuring electrode impedances meet laboratory standards.
  • Write comprehensive patient histories, explain test procedures to patients and families, and perform routine, ICU, and LTME studies across all patient populations, including neonates and critical care patients.
  • Accurately enter patient information into databases (Epic and Natus) and document events in EEG records.
  • Assist EEG Technologists in gathering excellent data for physician interpretation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of departmental training program and Core Curriculum established by ASET within 18 months of hire.
  • No directly related experience required.
  • Must obtain BLS Certification within 1 month of hire and maintain it.
  • Must successfully obtain the ABRET (American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists) credentialing for Registered EEG Technologist (R. EEG T.) within two years of hire and maintain it.

Pay

Starting pay range: $22.18 - $27.73 per hour, based on experience, skills, and equity. Additional pay (e.g., shift, on-call, or weekend differentials) and benefits may apply. Annual pay may vary based on FTE status.

Schedule

  • Night shift: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM.
  • Training for the first 6 months will be on day shift.
