About the Role

This position supports the Neurodiagnostics department by performing EEGs, ambulatory EEGs, and other neurodiagnostic procedures on pediatric patients. You will work primarily overnight shifts, ensuring continuous monitoring and accurate data collection for critical neurological assessments.

Responsibilities

• Perform EEGs, ambulatory EEGs, and other neurodiagnostic tests on infants, children, and adolescents.
• Apply electrodes and ensure proper signal quality for accurate readings.
• Monitor patients during procedures, documenting any clinical events or technical issues.
• Collaborate with neurologists and other healthcare professionals to provide timely and precise diagnostic information.
• Maintain equipment, troubleshoot technical problems, and ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
• Educate patients and families about procedures to reduce anxiety and improve cooperation.
• Adhere to departmental policies, including proper documentation and patient confidentiality (HIPAA).

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Neurodiagnostics or related field preferred.
• Certification as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist (R. EEG T.) or eligibility to obtain certification within 18 months of hire.
• Previous experience in EEG or neurodiagnostic testing, especially with pediatric patients, is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex technical procedures.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and medical staff.
• Physical ability to lift and position patients, including those with limited mobility.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.
