About the role

Jacob’s Ladder is a non-profit, SAIS - Cognia accredited Neurodevelopmental School and Therapy Center seeking compassionate, purposeful, and self-directed individuals with a background in Education, Counseling, Social Work or related professions.

Responsibilities

  • Administer superior care, educational, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services to clients from pre-K through 12th grade, infants, and adults.
  • Provide care for clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, Significant Learning Delay (LD), Apraxia, Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD), Speech Delays, Genetic Conditions, and Acquired Brain Injuries.
  • Implement specific program methodologies based on tailored assessments to help clients improve their therapeutic outcomes.
  • Work with multiple clients in various settings, ensuring effective communication and information sharing among team members.
  • Attend a highly intensive training and development program focusing on Jacob’s Ladder proprietary methodology and IWBMC™.
  • Experience high one-to-one intervention with clients, low client-provider ratios (2:1, 3:1), and small group instruction with multiple providers.
  • Work in specialized settings such as the Ladder, Hope School, Compass, and Community of Care Programs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with experience working with children, teens, or adults with developmental challenges in a teaching or care setting.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education, healthcare, psychology, or a related field, with up to a year of experience working with clients who have developmental challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to adjust communication styles based on the situation and audience.
  • Ability to develop sound, trusting relationships and demonstrate respect and receptiveness towards the needs of students, caregivers, and team members.
  • Team-oriented, creative, engaging, and adaptable to various settings, remaining calm and resilient during crises.
  • Able to organize tasks and maintain attention to detail, promoting and modeling Jacob’s Ladder’s core mission, values, and vision.
  • Able to perform physical tasks such as lifting 50 lbs and pushing up to 200 lbs using a wheelchair or other medical equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children, teens, or adults with developmental challenges.
  • Preferred Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education, healthcare, psychology, or a related field.
  • Up to a year of experience working with clients who have developmental challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop sound, trusting relationships.
  • Understanding and respectful attitude towards the needs of students, caregivers, and team members.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to be creative and engaging with clients and caregivers.
  • Fast, willing, and learner who can remain present in various settings regardless of distractions.

Pay

Schedule
