Job Summary

Position responsible for providing and coordinating direct staff education, indirect patient education, orientation training, and development of curriculum and individual learning plans and monitoring staff. Assist in executing accreditation of the Neurodiagnostics Program and future in-house training program.

Job Description

  • Education: Associate's degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Licenses/Certifications: Current BLS- Basic Life Support and one of the following is required: ABRET - Am. Board of Reg. Technologists by the American Board of Reg. TechnologistREPT - Evoked Potentials by the American Board of Reg. TechnologistCNIM - Cert Neurophys. Intraop Monitor by the American Board of Reg. TechnologistCLTM - Cert Exam Long Term Monitoring by the American Board of Reg. TechnologistCMEG- Cert Magnetoencephalography by the American Board of Reg. Technologist

  • Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Minimum of five (5) years' experience in clinical pediatric and adult electroneurodiagnostic required. Knowledgeable in MS Office and other modes of delivering instructional material. Effective oral and written communication skills.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Serves as an educational resource at the service level and for core hospital activities.

  • Affords support in assessing, planning, developing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating educational needs that are appropriate to target population and department orientation.

  • Facilitates and coordinates individual learning plans and development of preceptors.

  • Collaborates with Central Education and System Customer Experience Team and complete annual learning needs assessment according to staff development guidelines and policies.

  • Plans and implements educational programs designed to meet the needs of all staff educational programs.

  • Recognizes professional development needs and seeks out resources or experiences which promote professional growth and maintain clinical competence.

  • Demonstrates time and resource management by a delegation of responsibility, prioritization of activities, and collaboration with other units to meet educational needs.

  • Promotes team approach to healthcare delivery. Facilitates effective patient education at the service level. Evaluates effectiveness of patient education.

  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of services.

  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.

  • Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models Memorial Hermann service standards of providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and our workforce.
