About the Role

UMass Memorial Health and UMass Chan Medical School seek a dynamic and collaborative leader for the Division Chief of Neurointerventional Radiology. The successful candidate will lead the integration and expansion of joint clinical services, focusing on optimizing patient outcomes, increasing patient access, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

UMass Memorial Health is the leading healthcare provider in Central Massachusetts, serving a catchment area of approximately 1 million people. UMass Memorial Medical Center is the major academic teaching hospital for UMass Chan Medical School and serves as the regional comprehensive stroke center, accredited by the American Heart & Stroke Association and The Joint Commission. The Neurointerventional Radiology (NIR) division performs over 700 diagnostic catheter angiograms, over 175 large and medium vessel thrombectomies, and over 165 endovascular treatments for intracranial aneurysms annually. The division also performs approximately 100 spine interventions per year and is supported by 6 dedicated Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).

The NIR division consists of three Neuro-interventional radiologists who collaborate with two endovascular neurosurgeons. The division has access to two dedicated Philips Bi-Plane angio suites, with the option for a third if needed.

The Radiology department at UMass Memorial Health includes approximately 100 clinical radiologists and 25 basic science faculty, performing 1.25 million imaging studies per year. Responsibilities

• Lead the Neurointerventional Radiology division, managing procedures for stroke, aneurysms, and spinal vascular conditions.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration with neurosurgery, neurology, emergency medicine, and critical care teams.
• Work closely with the New England Center for Stroke Research (NECStR) to direct stroke and endovascular research.
• Oversee a varied portfolio of clinical trials research.
• Mentor faculty, residents, and fellows, and promote research initiatives.
• Contribute to the academic mission of UMass Memorial Health and UMass Chan Medical School.
• Handle administrative duties including strategic planning, budgeting, faculty development, and participation in stroke and neurovascular program leadership.

Requirements

• Board certification in Diagnostic Radiology.
• Fellowship training in Neurointerventional Radiology.
• At least 5 years of clinical and leadership experience.
• Strong leadership and academic accomplishments in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Commitment to high-quality care and fostering collaboration and innovation in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Pay

Hiring range: $480,000 - $665,000 per year. The final offer may vary within this range based on a candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
