Network Technician ( W2 ONLY )

About the Role

A Structured Cabling Technician is needed to plan and perform the design, installation, and connectivity of structured cabling to ensure the steady operation of organizational IT resources.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to OSHA safety standards in the Industrial workplace.
• Create, maintain, and ensure all safety documentation is approved by customer prior to project implementations (Work permits, Job Safety Analysis, etc.).
• Responsible for adhering to project deadlines including defined SLAs.
• Complete physical installations and removal of structured cabling components, including cabinets, pathway systems (cable tray), racks, and related communications infrastructure equipment.
• Perform installation and service (including terminating, testing, and repair) of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling (coax, HDMI), RF cabling, communication equipment, and other various low voltage related systems.
• Perform upgrades and additions to cabling infrastructure systems to increase functionality and usability.
• Evaluate, diagnose, troubleshoot cabling infrastructure systems, and perform repairs as necessary.
• Install and upgrade additional equipment associated with Information and Communications technology systems on an ad hoc basis.

Requirements

• Technical understanding of BICSI standards for various network cabling installations.
• Administrative skills with attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to possess a TWIC.

Physical Activities

• Ability to cover ground by walking and stand for most of the working hours.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in areas that require PPE.
