About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Level 3 Network Engineer/Technical Network Lead with strong hands-on experience in Viptela SD-WAN, Cisco Wireless (Catalyst 9800), and Enterprise LAN/WAN environments. The role requires deep expertise in routing, switching, and wireless technologies, with the ability to handle complex incidents, drive root cause analysis, and support large-scale enterprise network operations.
Responsibilities
The candidate will act as L3 escalation point for critical network incidents (P1/P2 issues) and troubleshoot complex issues across WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, and Wireless networks. Key areas of responsibility include:
- Troubleshooting complex issues across WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, and Wireless networks
- Ensuring quick restoration of services (RTS) within SLA targets
- Providing advanced troubleshooting for Viptela SD-WAN fabric, Cisco LAN switching, Cisco Wireless, and WAN circuits
- Deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting Cisco Viptela SD-WAN
- Troubleshooting WAN issues such as packet loss, latency, circuit flaps, and routing issues
- Leading Major Incident Management (MIM) calls and technical bridges
- Driving end-to-end ownership of incidents until closure
- Performing detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing permanent fixes
- Supporting and executing network migrations, technology upgrades, and refreshes
- Coordinating with ISPs, OEM vendors, and internal teams
- Providing technical updates to client stakeholders
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, route redistribution, route-maps, and prefix-lists
- Deep knowledge of Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), RSTP, BPDU Guard, Root Guard, and Loop prevention
- Expertise in VLAN design, inter-VLAN routing, and EtherChannel configuration and troubleshooting
- Experience with Cisco Catalyst 9800 Wireless Controllers, including WLAN, Policy, Site, and RF profiles, AP provisioning, and HA-SSO configuration
- Ability to diagnose wireless issues such as client connectivity, roaming issues, and RF interference
Qualifications
The candidate should have:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science (or equivalent)
- 10-15 years of experience in Enterprise Network Operations
- Relevant certifications preferred, including CCNP / CCIE (Routing & Switching / Enterprise) and Cisco Viptela SD-WAN certification
Skills
The ideal candidate will have experience with:
- ServiceNow (or equivalent ITSM tools)
- Monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Thousand Eyes)
- Automation knowledge (Python/Ansible)
