Network Technician

We are upgrading copper to fiber optic technologies to bring faster and more reliable internet service to rural markets traditionally underserved by broadband providers.
About the role
This is a critical role focused on all aspects of working in the physical Central Office. The Network Technician will be required to work overtime and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain all switching equipment in Central Offices
- Keep all backup generators in optimum condition
- Install, support, and maintain special circuits and work within the TIRKS system
- Monitor and support all switch alarm activity
- Install, support, and maintain fiber and copper networks
- Support and maintain transport networks and central power platforms
Requirements
- Familiarity with both inside and outside plant cabling practices
- Self-motivated and able to drive issues to resolution
- Ability to promote and sell Brightspeed services
- Knowledge of safety rules and regulations
- Ability to work well with both customers and fellow peers
