Network Technician

Position Description

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering teams, project stakeholders, and technology vendors to ensure successful delivery of network infrastructure solutions by configuring, staging, and validating networking equipment in a structured, process-driven environment.

Position Responsibilities

  • Configure, stage, and validate networking, wireless, and collaboration devices for deployment.
  • Gather technical requirements and translate them into build instructions, implementation documentation, and integration workbooks.
  • Execute technology integrations according to design specifications and documented procedures.
  • Support project execution from kickoff through final delivery.
  • Aid engineering teams in estimating technical effort and deployment requirements.
  • Develop and maintain implementation documentation and build procedures.
  • Participate in project kickoff, peer review, and status meetings.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to internal stakeholders.
  • Perform quality checks throughout the build process to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Review hardware compatibility requirements, including rack space, power, cooling, and installation considerations.
  • Assist with documentation updates, work instructions, visual aids, and process improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to team members when needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience supporting network infrastructure, integration, deployment, or data center operations.
  • Experience configuring and deploying network hardware such as: Routers, Switches, Wireless Access Points, Collaboration Technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with technical documentation and implementation procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience reading and interpreting rack elevations, network diagrams, cable run lists, and infrastructure schematics.
  • Understanding of structured cabling standards and best practices.
  • Knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and rack installation requirements.
  • Familiarity with VMware vSphere environments.
  • Understanding of server hardware platforms and enterprise infrastructure technologies.
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking concepts and enterprise network architectures.
  • Exposure to Cisco Unified Communications technologies, including CUCM, SIP, and H.323.
  • Experience supporting Fortune 500 or large enterprise environments.
  • CCNP certification or equivalent networking experience preferred.
