Network Systems Engineer (Pre Sales) - Trading Platforms

About the role

As a Pre-Sales Network Systems Engineer on the Sales Engineering team, you’ll report to the Regional Engineering Manager and collaborate with field engineers, Product Management, Software Development, and Arista TAC. You’ll help steer product developments and strategic direction while supporting Financial Services and Trading customers in the metro Chicago area.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted technical advisor to gather requirements and identify opportunities with customers and partners.
• Own the pre- and post-sales technical relationship with assigned territory and customer base.
• Build and maintain deep knowledge of Arista technologies to support and enable strategic customers.
• Facilitate technical training on Arista’s products, differentiators, solutions, and demos.
• Engage with key partners to develop proficiencies in delivering services around Arista’s solution set.
• Participate in Proof of Concepts (POCs) and on-site customer testing.
• Execute technical Quarterly Business Reviews with customers.
• Support onsite requirements at customer locations.
• Respond to inbound customer questions, including research and lab testing of solutions.
• Present technical content to worldwide organizations both virtually and in-person.
• Create technical marketing materials for the global Arista organization.
• Travel approximately 10%.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of networking design and implementation experience with a focus on Data Center, Campus, Wi-Fi, and Security solutions for Financial Services customers.
• In-depth technical expertise in routing and switching, including network architecture and design.
• Strong presentation and selling skills, including communication of complex technical material.
• Ability to build relationships with executives, architects, engineers, and operations teams.
• Good interpersonal skills, customer relations, and problem management under pressure.
• Experience creating technical materials (slides, white papers, battle cards, solution guides).
• Solid knowledge of competitive products, solutions, and services.

Qualifications

• Network Overlay and Virtualization experience is highly desired.
• Previous experience building network automation using Python and Ansible is desired.
• Network Industry Certification, including Arista Cloud Engineer (ACE) level 3-5, is desired.

Pay

The base pay range for this role is $130,000 to $175,000, with variations based on work location, skills, qualifications, and experience. Eligible roles may also receive discretionary bonuses, equity, and commissions (for Sales roles).
