Network Subject Matter Expert - Intermediate
Responsibilities
The Subject Matter Expert - Intermediate performs a variety of network engineering tasks including but not limited to the below. With minimal direction, provides support, analysis and research into exceptionally complex problems, and processes relating to the subject matter. Serves as technical expert on executive-level project teams providing technical direction, interpretation and alternatives. Thinks independently and demonstrates exceptional written and oral communications skills. Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role. Develops technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
Qualifications
- Minimum ten (10) years in a relevant field, (Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems/Technology).
- Deployment of WAN networks.
- Deployment of a separate Pulse Secure Remote Access VPN architecture.
- Ability to provide tier II/III troubleshooting support.
- Support the design and implementation of WAN equipment on the NIPR and SIPR.
- Technology refreshes and upgrades.
- Wireless technologies.
- IPv6 transition and transition.
- Tier III network troubleshooting.
- Network engineering services to support the full WAN lifecycle including design, implementation, installation, testing and transition to sustainment.
- Analysis of hardware, hardware configuration, security policy, network management, network protocols and security solutions in support of network functions related to the interoperability of the LAN, WAN (NIPR & SIPR) and DISN.
Required Qualifications
- Must have Secret Clearance with IT-I eligibility.
- Must have active CCNP-E (CCIE preferred) and Check Point Security Administrator.
- Must have one of the following DoD 8570 Baseline IAT Level III certifications: CASP+, CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH.
- Additional certifications preferred: Check Point Certified Security Expert, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals.
Security/Certification Requirements

Target salary range: $110,000.00 - 180,000.00.
Schedule
Schedule is day shift Monday – Friday. May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.
