Serves as a top-level escalation resource for network outages and complex service issues
Partners with Network Engineering to test, implement, and maintain new network infrastructure and services
Performs software and firmware upgrades across critical network platforms
Proactively identifies and resolves network issues before they impact customers
Supports network security initiatives and helps strengthen GVTC's overall security posture
Supports voice, video, broadband, transport, IP, and carrier services
Maintains network backups, operational documentation, SLA reporting, and change management processes
Helps train and support Network Operations Center personnel and other teams across the organization
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Network Operations and/or Network Engineering
- Telecommunications and/or NOC experience
- Strong IT and computer networking experience
- Advanced knowledge of carrier-class network technologies and troubleshooting
- Experience working across technologies such as FTTH, XGS-PON, DWDM, MPLS, VoIP, Carrier Ethernet, BGP, OSPF, IPv6, and network security
- CCNA certification or higher required
- CCNP, JNCIA-Junos, Calix System Specialist, and Metaswitch certifications are highly valued
- Able to support a 24/7/365 network environment, including on-call and scheduled maintenance requirements
