About the role
The role is a senior network infrastructure leadership position responsible for managing a highly dynamic environment with global interactions in designing, deploying, and operating large-scale, complex enterprise networks across data centers, WAN, cloud environments, and voice environments.
Responsibilities
- Significant experience leading and managing network engineering and voice teams
- Senior Team management and leadership experience
- Manage and maintain financial efficiency of network services and work with senior leadership on technical and financial goals for the network infrastructure
- Design, deploy, and troubleshoot experience in multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), border gateway protocol (BGP), open shortest path first (OSPF), enhanced interior gateway routing protocol (EIGRP), spanning tree protocol (STP), ether channels, Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), virtual private cloud (VPC), virtual datacenter (VDC), and general knowledge around network time protocol (NTP), simple network management protocol (SNMP), NetFlow, Cisco express forwarding (CEF), security protocols, and network management tools including datacenter network manager (DCNM), SolarWinds, and Wireshark
- Proven related technical experience with planning, engineering, design, and implementation of complex enterprise networks using Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, network management and monitoring systems
- High level of proven expertise in QoS design and implementation required
- Deep experience with network architecture, IT infrastructure, IT application technologies, and frameworks
- High level responsibilities include: Collaborate with other departments on solutions, system deployment, configuration, and testing for network operations. Conduct site surveys to determine anticipated areas of coverage with different components. Execute network planning to manage growth and development by monitoring network performance, exploring performance improvement opportunities, and identifying future capacity needs; develop technical standards and interface applications; recommend resources to maintain or expand networks, as needed. Manage the procurement, installation, and maintenance of the organization's LAN, WAN, and voice networks; manage LAN and WAN security; provide guidance and technical support for LAN/WAN technologies and network systems. Develop network configuration specifications, maintenance processes and policies, and designs for point-to-point and point-to-multipoint, tower-mounted, and mobile solutions. Perform research to identify candidate access points and wireless bridge equipment offerings from vendors; develop, validate, and track requirements for wireless access from remote locations and mobile vehicles. Research, evaluate, and select new products and services; recommend enhancements or improvements to existing network systems. Monitor deployment and testing processes; troubleshoot network systems, provide technical solutions and/or recommendations for network improvements; resolve network problems. Details: Deliver on major transformational projects including datacenter reengineering, consolidation, multi-cloud rationalization and deployments including AWS, Office 365, Cisco ACI, SD-WAN, etc. Implement designs and deliver on operational objectives by engineering, evaluating, recommending, formulating testing, and implementing plans for current and new network technology Propose strategic plans and reviews to leadership team; coordinate plans with senior leaders Prepare and complete action plans Design cost effective networks, adhere to MUFG and industry best practices Resolve highly complex problems Identify trends and patterns in audit results; determine network improvements; implement change Evolve the long-term architecture in collaboration with stakeholders, partners, and customers; drive the development of the ongoing strategic vision Drive implementation of proof-of-concepts and lab testing from concept to delivery with an emphasis and focus on emerging technologies Embed information security and risk management principles within culture requiring continuous improvement to complex functions to coordinate security and compliance risks related to information systems and assets
Requirements
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Advanced Networking (optional)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience
