About the role
ECI has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join the Global Implementations team. This team designs and deploys network infrastructures (both on-prem and cloud) for globally distributed clients, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence a minimum of 3 days per week. Core hours align with U.S. working hours but may extend outside these hours for projects and client support.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain client local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and wireless network infrastructure.
- Provide customer support to clients located across the globe.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Cisco routing and switching infrastructure, Cisco Meraki and legacy wireless infrastructure, Palo Alto technologies, Cisco, and Fortinet firewalls.
- Collaborate with relevant teams, departments, or external parties to resolve cases requiring specialized knowledge or resources.
- Serve as the ultimate escalation point for critical network incidents and outages, leading response efforts and coordinating with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the network services team, mentoring junior members and promoting best practices for network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, products, and solutions relevant to the organization’s strategic objectives, identifying proof-of-concept opportunities aligned with business needs.
- Engage proactively with clients to understand their unique network requirements and engineer tailored solutions that align with their goals.
- Create and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and policies/procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with exposure in product organizations.
- CCNP certification.
- Advanced routing and switching knowledge, with expertise in Cisco Nexus switching, BGP, and OSPF protocols.
- Ability to design enterprise networks.
- Knowledge and experience in public cloud technologies (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Expertise in Palo Alto firewalls, including Global Protect design and implementation with certificates, VPNs, failover, SSL decryption, and content filtering.
- Experience with FortiGate and Cisco FTD.
- Experience with Cisco traditional and SD-WAN routers, Catalyst, and Nexus switches.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building and managing expectations.
- Highly self-motivated and directed, thriving in a fast-paced team environment.
- Sharp attention to detail with proven analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Effective time management and excellent prioritization skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCIE certification.
- Experience with SonicWall network devices.
