Support and defend our nation’s security interests by providing enterprise IT, engineering, and full life-cycle communications services to the U.S. Department of Defense and other federal agencies.
Responsibilities
- Apply in-depth knowledge of complex LAN/WAN communications, network hardware such as Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways, and firewalls.
- Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols: Routing Information Protocol (RIP), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF).
- Design, deploy, and maintain technologies including Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS), MLA Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and Traffic Engineering.
- Manage local and wide-area networks, lead projects, install new devices, and perform ongoing infrastructure maintenance.
- Support Wireless, Riverbed, and Call Manager Express solutions.
- Administer multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices, and network management systems.
- Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve network outages.
- Submit accurate, timely updates for all assigned projects, including project completion reports and system test results.
- Operate and maintain networks: SIPR, NIPR, Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange (CENTRIXS), Battlefield Information Collection and Exploration System (BICES), Command Post of the Future (CPOF), CENTCOM Partner Networks, and Wireless Local Area Networks (LAN).
- Configure and manage switching protocols: Common Spanning Tree (CST), Military Image and Surveillance Technology Protocol (MISTP), Per VLAN Spanning Tree (PVST), Rapid Per-VLAN Spanning Tree (RPVST+), VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP), Dynamic Trunking Protocol (DTP), Group VLAN Registration Protocol (GVRP), Military Advisory Board (MAB), VLAN, and private VLAN.
- Implement Dynamic Multipoint Virtual Private Network (DMVPN) technologies: Next Hop Resolution Protocol (NHRP) phase 3, per-tunnel Quality of Service (QoS), Internet Key Exchange (IKE), Internet Protocol Security (IPsec), Easy VPN (EzVPN), and site-to-site VPN.
- Deploy and manage IP services: Web Cache Communication Protocol (WCCP), Authentication Authorization and Accounting (AAA), Quality of Service (QoS), Internet Protocol Service Level Agreements (IP SLA), Embedded Event Manager (EEM), System Logging Protocol (Syslog), Hot Standby Routing Protocol (HSRP), Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP), Gateway Load Balancing Protocol (GLBP), and Network Time Protocol (NTP).
- Travel CONUS/OCONUS to support the mission 25% or more.
Requirements
- Active, in-scope U.S. Government-issued Secret Clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship (required by contract).
- Meet DoD 8140 qualification requirements for the assigned work role (411 – Technical Support Specialist, Intermediate proficiency) through education, military training, certifications, or a combination thereof.
- Minimum of six years of in-depth experience with complex LAN/WAN communications and network hardware (Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways, firewalls).
- In-depth knowledge of routing protocols: RIP, EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF.
- Strong understanding and practical experience with MPLS, VPLS, VPNs, and Traffic Engineering.
- Experience with Wireless, Riverbed, and advanced administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices, and network management systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (preferred).
- Equivalent qualifications: 6–8 years of military experience in a related field with advanced commercial certifications.
- DoD 8140-approved certifications such as Security+, CND, GFACT, GSEC, or higher proficiency-level certifications applicable to the assigned work role.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $95,000 – $105,000, with actual compensation varying based on factors including location, experience, qualifications, skills, and performance.
