Network Engineer, Senior

Join our team and take responsibility for completing site surveys and creating structured designs for customer networks that support voice, data, security, and audio-visual systems. You’ll design engineered drawings, specifications, reports, and other technical documents while collaborating with IT, facilities, project teams, clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to analyze requirements and develop system designs, estimates, implementation plans, and management reports.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement final network solutions for on-premises and cloud environments.
• Manage the production of network devices and architecture design, including all supporting documentation required for global network implementation.
• Coordinate structured cabling design with other design disciplines.
• Deploy, upgrade, and troubleshoot multivendor network and security equipment (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper, Dell, HPE, VMware).
• Document complex network and security architectures, procedures, and troubleshooting workflows, including Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), BGP policy behavior, NGFW IDS/IPS configurations, and NAT/SNAT translation flows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing, deploying, and supporting network and security architectures within DoD hybrid environments, including Zero Trust principles or advanced routing designs.
• 3+ years of experience deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting multivendor network and security equipment (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper, Dell, HPE, VMware).
• 2+ years of experience documenting complex network and security architectures, procedures, and troubleshooting workflows (e.g., ZTNA, BGP policy behavior, NGFW IDS/IPS, NAT/SNAT).
• 2+ years of experience with security, routing, and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, VPLS, STP, L3VPNs).
• Active Secret clearance.
• HS diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DoD networks.
• Experience deploying and configuring Software Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN).
• Experience with F5 solutions.
• Experience operating, deploying, or administering Linux and Unix systems.
• Experience applying STIGs or hardening systems.
• Experience operating, deploying, or administering Windows systems and services.
• Experience with commercial or DoD Cloud networks.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, VMWare, JNCIA, JNCP).

Pay

Salary is determined by location, education, skills, competencies, experience, and contract-specific requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500 to $176,000 (annualized USD).

Schedule

This role may be remote, hybrid, or onsite:

• Remote: Primarily virtual, with occasional in-person work at Booz Allen or customer facilities.
• Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer sites.
• Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with direct collaboration required.

For virtual work, cameras are generally expected to be on during meetings to support engagement and communication.
