Network Engineer Senior

About the role

Acuity Inc is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with a focus on firewall administration and a security mindset to join our Infrastructure Engineering team. In this role, you will design, secure, deploy, scale, and maintain highly available network infrastructure both on-premises and in the cloud (Azure). You will collaborate with LAN admins and security teams to improve the availability, reliability, security, and performance of our products and services. Responsibilities

• Build and maintain site-to-site VPN tunnels.
• Maintain a secure, limited-access firewall rule base.
• Design and implement network configurations and connections across LAN and WAN.
• Troubleshoot network problems and lead incident resolution efforts, including postmortems.
• Manage IP address allocation to avoid overlaps.
• Maintain firmware on switches, APs, load balancers, and other network devices.
• Implement network segmentation for security and performance.
• Configure voice and call center systems.
• Design and deploy monitoring and automation tools to ensure system uptime.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to address disruptions and improve reliability.
• Work with web networking, TLS, SSL certificate management, reverse proxies, and load balancing.
• Apply a system operations mindset to maintain uptime and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in a similar network engineering role.
• In-depth experience with firewall administration, VPN tunnels, and multi-ISP routing.
• Proficiency in network access control (NAC) systems, switch/AP hardware configuration, and installation.
• Expertise in network design, implementation, troubleshooting, and segmentation using ACLs, NACs, and firewalls.
• Experience with wireless network security (802.1x, certificate authentication).
• Familiarity with WAF, DDoS, and bot protections.
• Incident response and/or incident management experience.
• Experience with highly available distributed systems and Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
• Strong written communication skills and a passion for solving complex problems.

Preferred: Experience with OT (Operational Technology) network segmentation, defining SLAs/SLOs/SLIs, and monitoring systems such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Azure.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $83,300 to $164,400, depending on experience and geographic location.
