Duties & Responsibilities
- Architect and implement LAN, WLAN, and WAN solutions that meet business requirements.
- Configure and install servers, routers, switches, and other network devices.
- Administer Palo Alto, Cisco, and Fortinet firewalls.
- Design, test, and enforce access authentication, VPN, and disaster-recovery procedures.
- Configure and manage Cisco core, WAN, and management switches, VLANs, and ASR platforms.
- Implement BGP, OSPF, and other routing protocols.
- Load Balancing & DNS
- Operate F5 load balancers and manage DNS services (Infoblox, Cisco DNS).
- Configure and manage Azure and AWS networking components (VPN, Gateway, NSG, routing).
- Monitor network performance and integrity using tools such as Logic Monitor and Live Action.
- Resolve escalated issues across cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
- Automate routine tasks with PowerShell, Python, or Perl; monitor automation effectiveness.
- Mentor team members on technical issues.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and network diagrams.
- Identify and recommend enhancements to network performance, capacity, and scalability.
Qualifications
- Required experience: 8+ years in senior network engineering or administration roles.
- CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- LAN/WLAN/WAN design and deployment: Cisco IOS, Palo Alto, Fortinet, F5, Infoblox, Azure, AWS.
- Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF.
- Firewall and security best practices.
- Powershell, Python, Perl scripting.
- Logic Monitor, Live Action, and other monitoring tools.
- Linux OS for network appliance support.
- Advanced knowledge of Linux OS for appliance support.
- VMware, Hyper-V, and storage environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication; ability to mentor and collaborate across teams.
- Experience with datacenter build and virtualization.
- Familiarity with access control models and network security frameworks.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
