Network Engineer II

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in public cloud and network administration
• PREFERRED: Undergraduate degree in Computer Science/Computer Information Systems, and/or Advanced Degree
• Strong knowledge of networking particularly Switching with Cisco/Cisco Meraki
• Proficiency in Azure infrastructure services such as DHCP, DNS, AD, ENTRA ID, vNet, FrontDoor, Private Endpoint, Traffic Manager, Network Security Group, and similar technologies in AWS
• Expert knowledge of SIEM and SOAR, Certificate management, Zero Trust Framework, Identity Providers, ACL, and Defender for Cloud
• Expert knowledge of IDS and IPS systems, Network monitoring tools, and advanced proxy
• Great oral and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Proficiency in PowerShell or a similar scripting language, SQL, and automation platform such as Tray.io or Workato
• Proficiency in using AI as a Thought Partner

Role Responsibilities

• Oversee network security and access control
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address network-related needs and challenges
• Analyze and resolve complex network and security issues
• Provide innovative solutions to networking needs and be a subject matter expert in the IT department
• Assess and implement cybersecurity measures; manage ongoing maintenance of network security systems
• Research and recommend technology to support network capacity planning towards future hardware, software and service acquisition and maintain acceptable service levels
• Manage technical operations and maintenance of the data center
• Maintain connectivity - LAN & WAN, security, other infrastructure
• Plan, organize, and document complex system design activities and configure systems to be consistent with policies/procedures
• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of hardware and software, including firmware patching schedules and hardware refresh cycles for on-premises equipment
• Act as a technical lead during major network outages, coordinate communication and resolution efforts
