Network Engineer, Cloud
About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud networking infrastructure across major cloud providers. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating secure, reliable, and scalable network architectures that support our clients' digital transformation initiatives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, security, and operations, to translate complex requirements into robust cloud networking solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of traditional and cloud-native networking patterns, with a proven track record of managing production-scale cloud networks. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field
- Five or more years of experience in networking, with substantial hands-on experience in cloud networking
- Deep knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong understanding of routing protocols, switching, BGP, and modern networking fundamentals
- Experience with hybrid connectivity solutions such as Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, or Cloud Interconnect
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools, especially Terraform
- Comprehensive understanding of cloud security controls and network security best practices
- Familiarity with Kubernetes networking, ingress, and service mesh fundamentals
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, including packet-level analysis
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
Responsibilities
- Design and operate cloud networking architectures including VPC/VNet, subnets, routing, and security groups
- Implement hybrid connectivity solutions such as Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, Cloud Interconnect, and VPNs
- Architect and manage edge networking components, including CDN, global load balancing, and WAF integration
- Develop DNS strategies utilizing Route 53, Azure DNS, or Cloud DNS with hybrid resolution capabilities
- Automate cloud networking tasks through Terraform, ensuring infrastructure-as-code best practices
- Implement and maintain network security controls, including firewalls, NACLs, security groups, and DDoS protection measures
- Manage Kubernetes networking, including CNI plugins, ingress strategies, and service exposure patterns
- Build observability into cloud networks via flow logs, traffic insights, and packet capture tools
- Identify and execute cost optimization strategies, such as data transfer reduction and resource right-sizing
- Troubleshoot complex cloud networking issues across hybrid and multi-cloud environments
- Stay updated with the latest cloud networking platform features and emerging industry patterns
