Network Engineer

About the role
GW RhythmX is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. The Network Engineer will support the day-to-day operations of local and remote networks, including VPN connections, firewalls, switches, routers, and Linux systems. The position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting, reconfiguration, and system upgrades to ensure optimal network performance and security. The successful candidate will participate in projects aimed at expanding and improving our network systems, leveraging automation and open-source technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot on-premises, cloud, and hybrid networks to ensure reliability and security
- Manage and maintain cloud network components within Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment
- Utilize automation tools to monitor systems, optimize performance, reduce total cost of ownership, and meet key performance indicators
- Develop reusable solutions for common network challenges to improve operational efficiency
- Perform regular maintenance, updates, and preventative measures on network hardware and software
- Monitor network environments continuously to identify and resolve issues proactively
- Document network configurations, procedures, and system changes accurately and comprehensively
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to support network-related projects and initiatives
- Stay current with emerging network technologies and incorporate best practices into existing systems
- Adhere to organizational security policies, safeguarding sensitive information in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Qualifications
- Understanding of networking concepts such as the OSI Model, TCP/IP, Routing Protocols, IPsec VPN, and NAT
- Knowledge of industry standard networking practices, procedures, and protocols
- Experience with cloud networking, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language or configuration tool (e.g., Ansible, BASH, Python)
- Familiarity with wireless network design and troubleshooting
- Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently with integrity and accountability
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and time-management abilities
- Flexibility to respond to after-hours incident escalations as needed
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required
