Network Development Eng II, ADC Networking

About the role

As part of the Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) Network Operations, you’ll play a key role in driving the stability and sustainability of next-generation IP networks that support the U.S. Intelligence Community. You’ll work with best-in-class Network Engineers to deliver simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes and drive complex issues to resolution.

Responsibilities

• Own and transform networking projects relating to deployment, implementation, scaling, and/or optimization
• Partner with our broader Infrastructure organization on configurations standards and tools
• Collaborate with Systems and Software Engineers to ensure fast, smooth roll-out of new designs and products
• Deploy and sustain networking software tools

Requirements

• Must be willing to support an off-hours operations escalation pager rotation
• Experience dealing with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
• The ability to sit in front of computer during scheduled work hours with appropriate breaks while maintaining a high level of alertness and attention to detail
• Travel to data center/network sites and Amazon/customer offices as needed
• The candidate selected must obtain and maintain a security clearance at the TS/SCI with polygraph level

Qualifications

• 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
• 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
• Knowledge of networking protocols, to include HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP
• Bachelor's degree, or CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) or CFR (CyberSec First Responder) or Cloud+ or GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional) or SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)
• Experience in Agile methodologies and DevOps practices

Skills

• Automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
