Network Deployment Manager I, Global Network Delivery

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is expanding its network deployment team and seeks a Network Deployment Manager with experience in people management, robust technical understanding, and the drive to elevate AWS data centers.

About the Role

The Network Deployment Manager will manage the implementation and delivery of inbound capacity and equipment, grow a team, and oversee their development and growth. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing a team of technicians responsible for installation and deployment of new network systems and projects.
• Prioritizing and assigning tasks to data center technicians and operators, coaching and creating documentation.
• Managing inbound capacity from receiving through deployment stages.
• Managing the installation network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment.
• Guiding, training, and educating staff on best practices related to service owner issues.
• Managing tasks and deliverables across small to large-size projects.
• Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs.
• Collaborate with team resources to support project and delivery needs, including emergency projects, change management, and maintenance window support.
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
• Drive compliance to Amazon performance management requirements.

Responsibilities

The Network Deployment Manager will create sustainable processes and standards to reduce delivery cycle times and improve quality without impacting network availability. They will manage tasks and deliverables across various projects, recommend and document policies and procedures, and coordinate team resources to support project and delivery needs.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of equivalent experience in IT.
• 2+ years of management/team lead function experience.
• Experience with network cabling, optic types, and test equipment, or network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers.
• Experience with Lean/Six Sigma.
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have:

• Experience leading projects and managing and mentoring people.
• The ability to collaborate with others to deliver technical solutions.
• Experience installing and delivering network equipment and related infrastructures.
• Experience driving compliance to Amazon performance management requirements.

The Network Deployment Manager should possess:

• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Technical expertise in network cabling and infrastructure.
