Network Deployment Build Mgr, GND AMER

About the role

AWS is seeking a Network Deployment Build Manager to lead a team responsible for managing new deployments in regions. The role involves managing technical delivery teams, ensuring project readiness, and driving continuous improvement of processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical delivery team and ensure completion of network rack splits and Position Plans for placement of network racks on a Data Centre Floor, HLD reviews, accurate Inventory planning, optimizing and doing the PR/PO process.
• Manage business relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure prompt delivery and avoid delays due to materials or vendor-related issues.
• Ensure technical delivery team is prepared and ready for network rack landing, power, position, and network rack configurations.
• Initiate or manage new initiatives to drive continuous improvement of project delivery processes based on lessons learned and AWS standards.
• Resourcing of projects and providing guidance to technical delivery teams regarding deliverables, establishing metrics, and setting goals.
• Aligning technical delivery teams with organizational/company-wide goals.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must have:

• A minimum of an Associate's degree or higher.
• At least 2+ years of people management experience.
• Experience in data center operations and network engineering for large-scale networks.
• Hands-on experience with physical infrastructure installations, hardware integration, racking, and cabling.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

• 5+ years of network engineering and deployments for large-scale networks in a corporate environment.
• Proven background in successful project delivery.
• Experience in developing innovative ways to automate and scale data center deployments.
• Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• International travel of up to 50% may be required.

Skills

The successful candidate should possess:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Autonomous and detail-oriented approach.
• Competence in installing and troubleshooting networking hardware, software, and fiber connectivity.
• Experience in managing project of network installation.
• Ability to work in an ambiguous, collaborative environment.
