Network Deploy Technician , Global Network Delivery (GND)
About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. As a Network Deploy Technician, you will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.
You will collaborate with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution, leverage your experience supporting large-scale, enterprise-class networks, and work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with regular peer and customer interaction. The role includes scaling support for multiple data center locations, day-to-day assistance with capacity management, and establishing best practices for operational procedures.
Responsibilities
- Manage work and priorities through ticketing systems and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
- Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
- Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment
- Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
- Travel within and outside of the regional work area using a reliable personal vehicle (company transportation not provided)
Physical Requirements
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
- Work in an environment that operates 24/7, including after-hours support and primary responder rotation
- Work in cramped, elevated, and/or noisy environments
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day
- Safely ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways without limitation
Requirements
- 1+ years of computer networking experience
- 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience in similar technical roles
- Work authorization without employer intervention (Amazon is not able to provide sponsorship now or in the future)
- Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license for regional travel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure

Pay
Base salary range: $30.91 - $54.18 USD hourly (USA, OH, Johnstown). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
