Network Computer Support Technician

About the role

GDIT is seeking a Network Computer Support Technician in Rome, NY, who holds an active DOD Secret Clearance. The role involves Tier 1 maintenance of on-site ADCS systems and subsystems, including preventive and corrective maintenance, monitoring on-site and remote locations, and coordinating with government contract representatives.

Responsibilities

• Terminate ADCS circuits at the node point-of-presence (POP).
• Report failures to the on-site government contract representative no later than the start of the next duty day.
• Coordinate system downtime requirements with CAOC/ADS “Comm Focal Point (CFP).”
• Monitor on-site and remote locations.
• Perform additions, changes, and relocations of ADCS equipment.
• Modify, move, and install new equipment.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and interconnectivity issues.
• Operate and maintain communications/computer systems and networks.
• Install communications/computer systems in accordance with installation specifications.
• Provide end-user support and training on communications systems/networks.
• Administer network/cyber security policies and procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
• Participate in special projects as required.
• Identify customer needs and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Perform assigned additional duties (e.g., Vehicle Monitor, Local Records Maintenance, Site Safety Representative) when selected.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance.
• Active CompTIA IAT Level II/8140 compliant certification (e.g., Security+CE, Network+).
• AA/AS degree and 1–3 years of experience, or equivalent.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Onsite presence in Rome, NY.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience.
• Knowledge of Cisco system support/maintenance, VMware ESXi, Active Directory, Windows Server 2019, HBSS, ACAS, SQL, SolarWinds, and Splunk preferred.

Working Conditions

• Mission supports 24/7 x 365 operations; shift work and weekends may be required.
• Work may require physical effort in handling equipment and boxes.

Pay

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $26.83 and $34.11, subject to experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.

Schedule

• Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
• Travel required: 10–25%.
• Telecommuting options: Onsite only.
