Network Community Outreach Specialist

Under the general supervision of the Program Manager, sustains and provides technical assistance to FoodShare’s statewide network. Contributes to the development of the program infrastructure and provides training and technical assistance to FoodShare hubs across the state, especially in rural areas. Supports new hub recruitment, identification, and mobilization.

Responsibilities

• Represents FoodShare SC at county-level coalitions, promoting the Fresh Food Box for food access needs. Develops relationships with community-based organizations (CBOs) to identify new hubs and build support for new hub operators. Onboards new hubs in compliance readiness requirements. Essential Function (40% of time)
• Provides ongoing training and support to current member FoodShare hubs throughout the state by organizing learning collaboratives, workshops, and funding support. Provides individualized support to hubs via Zoom, phone, and email. Additionally, travels to existing member hubs for training and networking. Essential Function (40% of time)
• Maintains relationships with existing vendors, benefiting the entire network, and builds new vendor relationships as needed to increase the Fresh Food Box program efficiency. Essential Function (10% of time)
• Assists the Richland County hub with packing and distribution days and with other tasks as needed. Essential Function (10% of time)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a job-related field and 2 or more years of job-related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job-related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven networking, community engagement, relationship-building, and/or partnership development experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to food justice and/or community development.
• Strong ability to manage time and priorities while working efficiently, accurately, and under general supervision.

Pay

Anticipated hiring range: $48,726 - $70,653

Schedule

• Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
• Standard working schedule: 8:30am – 5:00pm
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.
