About the role

The Telecommunications and Network Specialist will support the development of secure network architectures, conduct routine and emergency maintenance tasks, upgrade systems, and implement cutting-edge cybersecurity measures to safeguard all telecommunications infrastructures.

Responsibilities

Support the development efforts of secure network architectures, including VoIP, wireless communications, and encrypted data systems, ensuring compliance.
Conduct routine and emergency maintenance tasks, upgrade systems, and implement cutting-edge cybersecurity measures to safeguard all telecommunications infrastructures.
Quickly identify and resolve network issues, enhance system performance, and ensure the reliability and security of communications channels.
Ensure all operations adhere to the highest standards of security and compliance as set forth by the DoD and USACE, maintaining documentation and protocols for audit and review processes.
Work closely with District leaders and other IT professionals to plan and execute network expansions, technological upgrades, and the integration of new systems, aligning with strategic goals and mission requirements.
Be a central team member to promote a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Active Secret Clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in telecommunications or network engineering, with a strong preference for backgrounds in DoD or federal agency support.
Must hold current Security+ and CCNA certifications. Cisco certification in lieu of CCNA, but must work toward CCNA.

Qualifications

Demonstrated expertise in secure telecommunications and network technologies, protocols, and security practices.
Proven ability to support complex projects, troubleshoot and resolve significant technical challenges, and innovate within a regulated environment.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across teams and with various stakeholders.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $43.00/hr.
