Network Administrator (5663)

About the role

SMX is seeking a Network Administrator to join our team supporting NAVAIR at Patuxent River, MD. This is a mid-level role supporting enterprise network infrastructure, boundary services, cybersecurity compliance, and modernization efforts across a large DoD environment. This position requires approximately 2–3 days onsite each week at Patuxent River, MD. This position is a great opportunity for a network professional looking to expand their experience with Cisco, F5, enterprise networking, cybersecurity, and cloud modernization while working alongside experienced engineering and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and application-level connectivity and performance issues
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco switches, routers, and other network infrastructure
• Manage and administer F5 BIG-IP devices and load balancing services
• Deploy new network devices in accordance with approved engineering designs
• Support highly available network architectures and traffic management solutions
• Maintain boundary security infrastructure supporting NAVAIR core sites
• Work with NCDOC, NAVAIR Information Assurance, and Program Management teams to investigate network security incidents
• Support DoD Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) enablement efforts
• Support NMCI/legacy network interoper
