.NET Developer with Blazor
About the role
The Texas Department of Agriculture is seeking 3 Software Engineer II professionals to design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise web and mobile applications. The role involves developing secure, scalable software using Microsoft technologies, collaborating with business stakeholders, and supporting the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain complex web-based and client/server applications.
- Develop front-end and back-end applications using: C# .NET Blazor HTML5 CSS SQL Oracle SQL Server
- Develop and maintain stored procedures and database components.
- Build and support mobile applications using Visual Studio, .NET Core 9.0, and DevExpress.
- Implement secure payment acceptance functionality in mobile applications.
- Analyze user requirements and collaborate with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Recommend improvements to application development processes.
- Participate in Agile development activities and software demonstrations.
Requirements
- 4+ years developing web-based software applications.
- 4+ years programming with: C# .NET HTML/HTML5 ASP Java JSP SQL Stored Procedures
- Experience with: JavaScript CSS Oracle SQL Server
- Strong root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills.
- 3+ years working in Agile SDLC.
- 3+ years collaborating with development teams and business users.
- Experience presenting software demonstrations.
- 2+ years using Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools.
- 1+ year of C# .NET Blazor development.
Preferred Skills
- Experience migrating Java or Windows Forms applications to C# .NET Blazor.
- Responsive web design.
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
- Previous experience with Texas Department of Agriculture systems.
Work Environment
Full-time, 100% onsite. Standard business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM). Occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays may be required with prior approval.
Ideal Candidate
A strong candidate will have: Solid experience in C#, .NET, and Blazor development. Expertise in SQL Server and Oracle databases. Experience building responsive web applications and mobile solutions. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps/Jira. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Contract Duration: September 1, 2026 - November 13, 2026 (416 hours, with possible extension)
