NERC CIP Compliance Analyst

About the role

The CIP Compliance Department assists in the development, coordination, monitoring, and communication of all applicable Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards developed by the North American Reliability Council (NERC). Team members support this mission through key activities in NERC Coordination, Reliability First Coordination, SERC Reliability Corporation Coordination, Standards Tracking/Development, Compliance Coordination, Evidence Gathering, Compliance and Controls Assessments, Spot Checks, and Regional Audits.

This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence on Thursdays. The duration of the assignment is 9 months.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and as part of a team on assignments involving compilation, preparation, and analysis of evidence related to CIP Standards.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, determine possible solutions, and draw valid conclusions to assist in the CIP investigation process.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve identified risks and remedial actions.
• Participate in recurring audits to ensure compliance with NERC CIP Reliability Standards.
• Review new or revised standards, procedures, or policies to identify changes needed for continued compliance.
• Support company personnel in developing new processes or reports for compliance.
• Participate in standards reviews and develop recommendations providing guidance on NERC CIP Reliability Standards.
• Prepare the company for NERC and Regional Compliance Audits, Spot Checks, and Self-Certifications.
• Update compliance tools, track audit and investigation progress, and manage compliance documentation.
• Strengthen company controls for requirements where non-compliance could cause significant reliability, financial, or reputational impact.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with and working knowledge of CIP standards.
• 5+ years of experience developing or managing implementation of work-level instructions.
• Demonstrated analytical and reasoning capabilities, refined verbal and writing skills, and presentation skills.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, determine solutions, and draw valid conclusions.
• Prior experience conducting analysis and supporting compliance in a regulatory environment.
• Prior energy industry experience preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and pass a background check and drug screening.

Pay

The base pay range for this role is $50 - $63 per hour.
