About the role
This is a full-time, on-site Neonatology Nurse Practitioner role based in Phoenix, AZ.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical care to newborns in neonatal units, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications and therapies, and collaborate with neonatologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Educate and support families, document care in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards, and participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical protocols.
- Contribute to staff education, maintain current knowledge of neonatal best practices, and adhere to safety and infection prevention guidelines.
Qualifications
- Advanced practice nursing skills, including Nurse Practitioner training and licensure, with a focus on Neonatal Nursing.
- Clinical proficiency in Neonatal Intensive Care, including management of high-acuity and critical care newborns.
- Strong foundation in Medicine and Nursing principles applicable to neonatal and perinatal care.
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license (or eligibility) in Arizona and national certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or equivalent.
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Nursing or related advanced practice field.
- Experience working in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or similar high-acuity neonatal setting is strongly preferred.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to family-centered care, cultural humility, and respectful, non-discriminatory practice.
- Ability to work on-site in Phoenix, AZ, including participation in shift-based, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed.
