Neonatologist
Responsibilities
Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking an experienced, Board Certified neonatologist to provide per diem coverage in Syracuse, NY. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a physician friendly, team-oriented environment providing high quality care at two premier hospitals: St. Joseph’s Health Hospital and Upstate Community Hospital.
Practice Highlights
St. Joseph's Health Hospital – Level III NICU 14-bed Level III NICU with 24/7 in-house APP coverage; physicians take call from home
Approximately 1800 deliveries annually with 200+ NICU admissions
Subspecialty support is available through SUNY Upstate and associated groups
Daytime rounding in-house at either the Level 1 or Level 3 Monday-Friday. Out of House call 14 hours for both units Monday-Thursday, usually the doc covering the L3 for the day. Friday-Sunday call for both units same provider all 3 days. Saturday-Sunday IH rounding on both units.
Per Diem coverage is intermittent but there is a coverage need from October 11-14
Upstate Community Hospital – Extra Care Nursery 21 couplet care/postpartum rooms and 6 extra care nursery beds
24/7 in-house APP coverage with NICU specialized nursing; physician call from home
Approximately 1000 deliveries annually, caring for infants 34+ weeks and those requiring oxygen, HFNC, or gavage feeding
Coverage includes 98% of well babies

Qualifications
Board Certification in Neonatology with recent experience required
Active NY license or Active IMLC required
