Summary
A Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering care within the scope of his/her training and expertise, collaborating with other disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes is met. This is done in conjunction with the objectives and policies of the hospital and the Nurse Practice Act of the state of Arkansas.
Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care to infants suffering from medical complications soon after birth, ranging from congenital defects and surgical problems to prematurity.
- Assesses the patient and develops a plan of care designed to meet the physical, psychological, educational/health literacy, sociocultural and spiritual needs of the patient and family.
- Cares for and deals with witnessing births and infant deaths.
Requirements
- New RN graduate from an accredited nursing program or Registered Nurse in good standing, and licensed to practice in the state of Arkansas.
- B.S.N. preferred.
- Applies basic knowledge and skills to meet standard of care.
- Practices as a full partner of an interdisciplinary team.
- Healthcare CPR required, some areas may require ACLS, PALS and/or NALS - training is provided.
- Specialty units require and will provide specific specialty education.
