Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Therapy Weekend Program-Nights

This role is part of the Weekend Program, offering a weekend-only shift schedule with enhanced compensation. The Weekend Program requires a 12-month commitment to work 48 scheduled weekends within a 12-month period, beginning with the first shift worked. A travel allowance is available for eligible employees traveling greater than 75 miles one way.

About the Role

These roles focus on helping patients recover from injuries, illnesses, or surgeries and improve their physical, emotional, and functional well-being. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, and providing therapeutic interventions to enhance patients' abilities to perform daily activities and achieve their rehabilitation goals. Respiratory therapists evaluate, treat, and care for patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders by providing oxygen therapy, managing ventilators, conducting breathing exercises, and monitoring lung function to ensure optimal respiratory care.

As an individual contributor in a clinical discipline or specialty, this role involves diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients, often through face-to-face interactions. Some time may also be spent designing and implementing clinical programs, policies, and services using specialized knowledge and skills. A specialty license or certification, acquired through advanced education, training, and/or experience, is required.

Requirements

• Graduate of a CoARC-accredited respiratory therapy program.
• 12 months of acute/critical care Respiratory Therapy clinical experience.
• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license.
• Licensed to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification.
• Active NBRC Specialty Credential (e.g., RRT-ACCS, RRT-NPS) expected within 2 years of hire.

Physical Requirements

• Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, and bending/stooping.
• Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
• Ability to lift/push/pull 20–50 lbs.
• May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $39.96 – $49.18 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate’s qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
