Neonatal Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Nights

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the treatment and care of neonatal and pediatric patients.
• Provides respiratory therapy services to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, monitors patient progress, and adjusts treatment plans as necessary.
• Collaborates with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
• Performs hemodynamic procedures, including arterial cannulation.
• Participates in continuous learning and professional development to maintain and enhance skills.
• Performs respiratory therapies, recommending the most efficient delivery method per protocol.
• Utilizes patient assessment skills, protocols, chart review, and multidisciplinary team consultations to determine therapy efficacy and make appropriate recommendations and changes.
• Conducts airway maintenance, including but not limited to: manual resuscitators, suctioning, extubating, tracheostomy tube insertion, trach tube changes, oral and nasal pharyngeal airway insertion, endotracheal intubation, and procedural respiratory support.
• Maintains records and communicates information effectively.
• Utilizes and adapts to computer systems and applications, demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
• Exhibits critical thinking and patient assessment skills, with the capacity to evaluate and modify treatment plans using patient care protocols.
• Optimizes the use of equipment based on orders or protocols.
• Ensures adherence to infection control standards.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS).
