Responsibilities
- Performs patient assessments
- Carries out general and critical care respiratory care procedures
- Provides respiratory care for newborns in Labor and Delivery
- Conducts blood gas analysis and interpretation
- Maintains and manages respiratory care equipment
- Provides patient and family education in both adult and neonatal areas
Qualifications
- Education: Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences Required
- Work Experience: Previous working experience in Neonatal Respiratory care, or successful completion of department specific orientation including skills validation of competencies for the duties and responsibilities of this level Required
- Licenses and Certifications: RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist, RRT licensed by the National Board for Respiratory Care and licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners Upon Hire Required and BCLS - Basic Life Support, BCLS upon hire required and ACLS, ACLS upon hire required and NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation, NRP upon hire required and PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support, PALS required
