Neonatal ICU Clinical Pharmacist

Responsibilities

  • Ensures optimal drug therapy for patients in the Neonatal ICU.
  • Provides educational activities to pharmacy staff and other caregivers.
  • Develops and implements patient-specific treatment plans with neonatologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Participates in system-wide clinical meetings and initiatives to support medication management and standardization.
  • Serves as a clinical resource for the healthcare system on neonatal pharmacotherapy, including dosing, safety, and evidence-based practice guidance.
  • Develops, reviews, and implements system-wide neonatal medication protocols, policies, and order sets.
  • Supports antimicrobial stewardship, nutrition support, and other specialized neonatal care programs.
  • Provides education and training to pharmacy staff, residents, and other healthcare professionals on neonatal pharmacotherapy topics.
  • Maintains and evaluates patient outcomes to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality pharmaceutical care.

Requirements

  • Completion of an ASHP approved pharmacy residency program.
  • Three (3) years practicing pharmacist experience.
  • Licensed as a registered Pharmacist in Connecticut or eligibility to receive licensure within 45 days of hire date.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
  • Pharm.D. preferred.
