About the role
The NDT Level III Technician for Voyager Energetics is responsible for overseeing the entire facility’s NDT program. This role involves implementing and executing NDT processes, serving as the site Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), administering the site’s Manufacturing NDT Program, and performing various NDT duties.
Responsibilities
- Maintain responsibility for the overall NDT program, including Radiography (Computed and Digital), Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonic, and Visual inspections.
- Drive processes to continuously improve the business, enable the next generation manufacturing, and ensure compliance with all governing specifications, codes, and standards.
- Administer the Site's Manufacturing NDT Program, responsible for NDT Level 3 duties such as processes, procedures, techniques, training, qualification, and certification.
- Troubleshoot, provide technical leadership, and correct NDT processes while maintaining product and process flow.
- Understand and interpret codes, standards, specifications, and customer requirements related to NDT inspection to meet manufacturing demands and compliance.
- Develop and implement NDT method procedures and techniques, train and mentor Level I and Level II technicians, and perform site assessments.
- Research and implement new inspection techniques and technologies to improve current processes and support next generation manufacturing processes.
- Ensure safe practices are used in compliance with all governmental regulations.
- Identify, drive, mentor, and implement projects that improve overall production quality.
Requirements
- Current NAS 410 NDT Level 3 certification in Radiographic Non-film techniques.
- Knowledge of other NDT methods including Ultrasonics, Penetrant, Magnetic Particle.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in an engineering or quality position).
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience.
- Experience with NADCAP and ISO.
- Minimum 3 Years Of Experience In Manufacturing Or Quality.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to drive change.
- Strong working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality operations.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with an organization at all levels.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams in a matrix environment with all levels of personnel.
- Ability to coach, manage, change and facilitate team performance.
- Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated work ethic.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain State and Federal explosives licenses, including Be 21 years of age or older.
- Pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Pass State and Federal background checks.
