Major Responsibilities/Activities

  • Periodically review and assist in the update of NDT certification examinations.
  • Recommend program improvements as needed.
  • Rewire NDT personnel qualification and certification procedures as necessary to maintain program compliance.
  • Develop and maintain all specifications for NDT, including the development and maintenance of all NDT technical procedures, forms and supporting documentation.
  • Aid in the preparation of capital expense and operating budgets relating to the above programs, as needed.
  • Provide support for training initiatives relating to the areas which assigned, and other training as requested by supervision.
  • Serve as representative to ASME, API, ASTM and other bodies, as needed.
  • Maintain an awareness and understanding of all applicable regulations, codes, standards, and specifications, as well as company policies and procedures; complete any training necessary to support these activities and communicate these requirements to affected branch personnel as necessary.
  • Communicate with customers on technical and program issues.
  • Provide training, as necessary, to affected personnel, including customers, to obtain program compliance, process efficiency and effectiveness, cooperation, continued education, and morale.
  • Participate in other general administrative and technical activities such as cost reduction methods, communications, safety, housekeeping, and employee training.

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent, technical school or college credits preferred.
  • Must possess a current ASNT NDE Level III certificate in the NDT method responsible; and possess adequate knowledge in the NDE method responsible (MT/PT/UT/ET/VT/RT).
  • Proven ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and complete work assignments by specific deadlines.
  • Proven ability to follow and communicate to subordinates precise directions and procedures of the customer on the project.
  • Must be able to communicate with supervisor and co-workers.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
