NDT Technician Level III

This onsite position is located at our Foley, AL facility. U.S. citizenship is required due to program/contract access restrictions. Relocation assistance will be provided.

About the role

Join our team as an NDT Technician Level III and help shape the future of aerospace and defense. You will collaborate with NDT technicians and Level III managers across Aerostructures, oversee ultrasonic inspection processes, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist NDT technicians to ensure ultrasonic inspection processes are completed in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with Level III NDT Managers across Aerostructures.
• Perform NDT Level III functions in ultrasonic inspection.
• Oversee and direct ultrasonic inspection processes for non-destructive testing.
• Ensure policies, procedures, and detailed requirements are followed and implemented daily.
• Train and certify non-destructive testing technicians, aligning skills and knowledge with specifications and standards.
• Develop and implement new processes and controls to ensure proper technique steps are practiced.
• Support the Quality organization by managing and driving activities and schedules to closure.
• Create and update work instructions and standard processes as required.
• Provide advice and guidance in interpreting and adapting quality standards.
• Coordinate and oversee schedules to ensure on-time delivery of parts to value streams.
• Ensure calibrated measuring instruments adhere to the calibration schedule.

Requirements

• A university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Certified Ultrasonic Technician at Level III from a nationally recognized institution.
• 2+ years of experience in proper defect analysis through NDT inspection processes.
• Experience with MS Excel and creating MS PowerPoint presentations.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience working in a manufacturing organization, particularly aerospace.
• Experience with SAP, Teamcenter, or similar systems.
• Proven track record of success and thorough understanding of NDT processes.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, innovative, well-organized, and able to handle and prioritize multiple assignments.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across functional areas.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $86,800 - $165,200 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
