NCIS Systems Administrator | Shift Work | Active Top Secret clearance

US Citizenship required. Active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required; must be able to obtain and maintain this clearance level.

About the role

As a Systems Administrator at GDIT, you will support the IT Technology Development division within the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) ITD organization in Quantico, VA. NCIS is the Department of the Navy component responsible for criminal investigation, law enforcement, counter-terrorism, counterintelligence, and cyber matters, with approximately 2,000 personnel worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Administer, manage, and maintain Windows Server 2016 and 2019 environments.
• Perform Windows Server patching in an operational environment.
• Work with Domain controllers, Active Directory, DNS servers, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects.
• Create, manage, and maintain accounts and groups in Active Directory and LDAP.
• Develop and utilize PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks.
• Monitor system environments and resources.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, resolve, and document problems with business applications and hardware across all enclaves.
• Deploy DISA STIGs controls and ensure system compliance.
• Oversee system recovery mechanisms and resolve issues independently.
• Coordinate, communicate, and escalate required changes and major issues.
• Diagnose and resolve computer-related problems for employees and contractors, both in person and via remote control software.
• Respond to telephone calls and email requests for technical support.
• Accurately document all work in ServiceNow.
• Support mobile device management solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in systems administration.
• Well-rounded experience in general computer system, network administration, and user support.
• Experience with mobile device management support and solutions.
• Familiarity with NGEN IT infrastructure and enterprise-class networks.
• Ability to administer user accounts and device associations in Active Directory.
• Experience with installation, operation, configuration, and maintenance of business and end-user application software in large government installations.
• Familiarity with a variety of technical support applications, concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Required certifications: Security+ CE, GSEC, SSCP, or CCNA Security.
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

Schedule

A two-week rotation where teams alternate between four weeknight 10-hour night shifts and weekend 12-hour day/night coverage for a 40-hour workweek.

Pay

The likely salary range for this position is $111,155 - $150,385. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements.
