About the Role
Independently design, develop, and validate CNC programs for a range of metal-cutting machine tools. You will be accountable for CNC program safety, quality, on-time delivery (OTD), and process efficiency, as well as providing production support such as machine and process troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Support the NC programmer team and gain technical knowledge as part of the work.
- Communicate with counterparts to roll out jobs and control the handling of CNC programs in the server.
- Achieve individual metrics and support the team’s targets.
- Select appropriate tools and processes for given situations.
- Complete timecards for duties performed in a timely manner.
- Interact with the engineering department to process jobs when required.
- Meet customer delivery dates and maintain the team’s on-time delivery.
- Be flexible in cross-region and cross-machine programming by understanding regional and machine-specific differences.
- Embrace the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) culture, refine routine tasks, and facilitate more effective processes to improve deliverables.
- Create programs in CAM software (Esprit) by identifying and understanding drawing symbols, sections, and detail views in component drawings.
- Utilize CAD/CAM and related computer technology to develop programs and toolpath models.
- Make or offer suggestions on drawing changes to improve manufacturability.
- Read and follow written instructions or procedures.
- Create, design, edit, and maintain Microsoft Excel files.
- Perform individual responsibilities related to portfolios, committees, and other areas beyond regular programming.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED and 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, including GD&T symbols.
- Ability to define processes and understand how they affect programming.
- Experience identifying milling processes and matching them to part requirements.
- Basic knowledge of shop floor practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic PC requirements (e.g., mapping drives, accessing folders).
- Understanding of the imperial system (inches).
- Basic knowledge of programming, including lathe or drill programs.
- Familiarity with CNC machines, codes, and programming languages.

- Proficiency in Esprit (CAM tool) and AutoCAD environments.
- Experience with Mazak Integrex machines.
- Ability to correct routes (e.g., PS0021, SD0800, SF0010, Times) in PRMS.
