About the role

The Navigator for Orthopedic and Cardiac Services guides patients through their healthcare journey, focusing on education, care coordination, and advocacy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored patient and family education.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care plans.
  • Ensure timely scheduling of procedures.
  • Monitor quality metrics to improve patient outcomes.
  • Oversee staff training and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Manage financial aspects of care coordination.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in committees and ensure safety protocols.
  • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality.
  • Support community outreach programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field (master’s preferred).
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in acute care.
  • Experience in orthopedic or cardiac care.
  • Active California RN license.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and fire safety.

Skills

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
