Position Purpose

The ideal candidate will display a drive to provide patient-centered experiences through scholarly scientific inquiry, compassion for the human spirit and mind, advocacy and education for the patient and families, and collaboration with all those who touch our patients.

What Will You Do

  • Acts as the single point of contact for all patients undergoing joint replacement surgery and other complex orthopedic procedures at Mercy Medical Center's Orthopedic Institute.
  • Carefully coordinates all aspects of care from the time a patient is booked for a complex orthopedic procedure, through their hospital stay and the first 90 days after surgery.
  • Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Utilizes evidence-based practice or research within clinical practice.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • BSN required.
  • Certified Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Three to five years’ nursing experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in orthopedic/arthroplasty surgical patient care preferred.
